Despite as individuals being firebrand performers and popular stars, the two have as yet only really been seen in 'Fanaa'. While Kajol was offered '3 Idiots', she opted out, wanting equal screen space as Aamir. It seems unlikely that the two will unite, for how often does a heroine have prominent space in a film with a leading hero.

Future prospects : Somethings happen once in a lifetime, looks like this was it.

Reasons for not uniting : Abhisheks and Rani's dips in their careers

While 'Bas Itna Sa khwaab Hain' might be forgettable, the duo shared amazing chemistry in Mani Ratnam's 'Yuva', and they later moved on to becoming the indian consters in Bunty Aur Babli, but their few romantic scenes in KANK, were the most memorable so far. The two share a great working relationship, and chemistry, and it seems Abhishek is searching for a heroine for 'Mere Apne', Lets see if there's any chance of Rani there?

Reasons for not uniting: An Affair between Priyanka Chopra and Akki ensued upon the sets of their films, leaked courtesy her ex-manager - Prakash Jaju. Its said Akshay was banned working with her by Twinkle Khanna, while Priyanka was allegedly slapped by the same .

While they became the hottest onscreen pair with their array of successful films, family intervention put a stopper to their bad romance. One of Priyanka's first films ' Andaaz', was with Akshay, and their chemistry sparked a signing spree together. One of Priyanka's most iconic roles 'Aitraaz', peaked the onscreen sexual tension between the two, while Waqt was a conventional romantic angle. Kya Kehte Hain? Kuch Thanda or Something Hot? ;)

Despite some of the questionable quality of films the two have starred in together, there is no lack of demand to see the pair onscreen. A range of failed attempts over the years (From Kismet Talkies to Agneepath), rumours have it that the two will finally set aside their differences/reservations and reunite for Karan Malhotra's Shuddhi. Till then we have 'Bole Chudiyan', 'You are My Soniya' & 'Oh My Darling I Love you' to drool over, lets ignore 'Bhatke Paanchi'. Shall we?

Reasons for not uniting : Karisma took a hiatus from acting, and despite making a comeback, has been lying low.

Being one of the most iconic onscreen couples of the 90's , Karisma Kapoor and Salman Khan, share a delightful and natural chemistry together. Though her younger sister, Kareena is a hot favourite for pairing up with Salman, Lolo and Sallu, make such an amazing pair, its almost criminal to not see them together. Fans at least tantalized their imaginations when they heard their voices together in Bodyguard, however a comeback for them is very much required. With Sooraj Barjatya having worked with both of them on previous occasions, lets see if they make it back onscreen in his next.

Reasons for not uniting: A clear personal problem between the two. Sonam on end has vowed to never work with him, Ranbir on the other doesn't seem fazed.

Despite being childhood friends, assistants on the movie 'Black' and starting their career's together with 'Saawariya', the duo haven't worked with each other since. There is a high demand from the youth to see the two together again, but the personal problem that soured their long term friendship, seems to have eclipsed the possibility of seeing them together. Lets hope, like with Deepika, Ranbir manages to patch up with Sonam.

Films Seen in : Mohabbatein, Devdas

Reasons for not uniting : A problem between the two arose around the time of Chalte Chalte, where Aish, was unceremoniously dropped from the movie, and replaced with Rani Mukherjee.

The two have shared the greatest of chemistry in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's classic 'Devdas' and Aditya Chopra's 'Mohabbatein'. Despite playing Paro to his Devdas, Aishwarya also managed to play his sibling in 'Josh'. Lets hope the two come back in an epic love saga....

Reasons for not uniting: Lack Of Offers ? Potential projects never made.

Vidya's yesteryear actress looks matched Saif Ali Khan perfectly in Parineeta, and the chemistry they shared was loved by all. Eklavya on the other hand, placed a dampner on things, where neither the movie or their roles were appreciated. The two were meant to unite in a Vishal Bhardway film, titled 'Dreams' Which never took off, but whats stopping directors from re-uniting these two ?
