To say that Deepika Padukone is on a roll would be stating the obvious. The lady has been high on the success of YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI, RACE 2 and COCKTAIL with some promising months ahead, starting with CHENNAI EXPRESS. With just a couple of days remaining for the Eid release of her Shahrukh affair, Deepika is expectedly anxious about response to her film.
Still, while she is on a high now, there was a low phase before that. How does she look back at that?
"Of course you do think about that a little bit. However it never hindered my confidence. If there is anything that I have learnt from my experiences, it is all because of the phase that I have gone through. Every experience teaches you something. These films may not have worked the way I would have wanted but I had a good time. I built relationships by working with Ashutosh Gowariker (KHELEIN HUM JEE JAAN SEY), Pradeep Sarkar (LAFANGEY PARINDEY), Danish Aslam (BREAK KE BAAD), Vijay Lalwani (KARTHIK CALLING KARTHIK). It was a journey where I learnt from the ups and downs. I am in a good space now," says Deepika.

She does understand though that she has now moved up the league of the actress and hence can no more be just a girl out there who fills in the mandatory space of a heroine. Doesn't that make her think and further rethink about a film that she picks up next?
"Well, I hope that I can maintain all the success that I have got," she says with that dimpled smile of hers, "I have to play a balanced act though. This is not something that I can take for granted but then I can't take it serious either. I need to keep my head intact."
