These Bollywood celebrities went for an arranged marriage after failed love affairs

Not every person is destined to find love. We have seen the concept numerous times in reel and real life. Our Bollywood celebrities are no exceptions to the thorns of failed love affairs put in their side. There are some who have experienced pain first hand and later went on to settle in arranged marriages, sans any further drama. While some such arranged affairs lasted as the stars found happiness in their soulmates that their parents chose for them, some of those marriages ended in bitter divorces. However, whatever might be the case, the point is that these celebrities of B-town found ultimately gave in to the concept of arranged marriage after their doomed love stories.

Shahid was in a relationship with Kareena Kapoor for a long time, before it came to an end. He was linked with his co-stars Vidya Balan and Priyanka Chopra too. In the end, the heartthrob of Bollywood chose to settle down with Mira Rajput, a girl eleven years his junior. Shahid’s parents and Mira’a parents met at a religious cult that they follow, and hence the match was made. Now Shahid is father to a cute baby girl, named Misha.

Madhuri Dixit Nene

Madhuri was known for her sizzling chemistry with Anil Kapoor during the nineties. Some even whispered that there was more to the on screen chemistry that met the eye. Whatever might be the true state of affairs, the queen of hearts surely broke many when she decided to take her vows with Dr. Sriram Nene, a US based doctor. It was an arranged marriage. The couple has two kids together.

Karisma Kapoor

Karisma Kapoor was known to be in a relationship with none other than Abhishek Bachchan. So much so that the two were engaged to be married with much hula boo and fanfare. However, as destiny would have it, some ugly spat happened between the families and as a result the marriage was broken and that was the end of it. Abhishek later on got married to Aishwarya Rai, and Karisma tied the knot in an arranged affair with Sanjay Kapoor, a businessman and family friend. The two are divorced now and have two kids together.

Raj Kapoor

The greatest showman that Indian cinema has ever witnessed had his fair share of love affairs. His affair with Nargis was the most talked about one, and one could witness it even the chemistry that they shared in their movies, albeit on screen. However, Raj eventually gave in to the institution of arranged marriage when his father Prithviraj Kapoor matched him with his distant cousin Krishna.

Vivek Oberoi

Everyone in the tinsel town of Bollywood knows how Aishwarya Rai turned to Vivek when the infamous breakup with Salman Khan happened. Whispered rumours of threatening phone calls also did fair share of rounds, and we’ll have to assume that those were true as Vivek’s rising and promising career just fell apart. Eventually, even Aish went on to marry Abhishek, her true love, and Vivek was married to his childhood friend Priyanka in an arranged affair. The two have a son and daughter together.
