Hot TV Actresses & Their Off-Screen Avatars

So your favourite TV actress comes across as the typical Indian woman complete with the traditional sari and vermillion on her forehead. But did you know behind the shy characters they portray on screen are women who are not just independent but also sophisticated? Let’s take a look at some of our popular TV actresses who love to let their hair down once in a while after a shoot!

Mona Singh: She became popular after playing the bespectacled Jassi in the serial Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi a few years ago. Currently Mona Singh can be seen in Kya Huaa Tera Vaada playing a simple housewife and single mother to two kids. We think the actress personally loves Indian wear and therefore can be mostly seen in traditional clothes especially salwar kameez at various events.

Mouli Ganguly: Mouli Ganguly came to into limelight with the TV soap Kaahin Kissii Roz where she played a shy housewife. With a few ordinary roles following this, the pretty actress is now back with a revamped look in Kya Huaa Tera Vaada. Her style both in the serial as well as in real life is in many ways similar – chic and sophisticated.

Mouni Roy: With a string of reality dance shows and guest appearances in several soaps, Mouni Roy has bagged one of the lead roles in Devon Ke Dev – Mahadev. Contrary to her TV personas, Mouni comes across as a fun dresser in real life.

Ragini Khanna: In Sasural Genda Phool, Ragini plays the ideal Indian bahu complete with netty saris and minimal jewellery. Contrary to her on-screen avatar, in real life, the TV actress appears to be more experimental as far as style is concerned.

Rashmi Desai: Rashmi Desai earned recognition after playing Tapasya in the popular TV serialUttaran. Like most other serials, even this one takes us through a huge time leap, narrating the story of two friends. Rashmi’s on-screen look is more traditional where she is seen mostly in heavy-embroidered saris and ornate jewellery.  At social dos, the actress can be seen in western casuals.

Sakshi Tanwar: Sakshi Tanwar became a household name after playing the typical Indian housewife in the 2000 serial Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii. Back to playing the lead in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain opposite Ram Kapoor, Sakshi has surely proved her stint in the industry. As far as style is concerned, Sakshi comes across as someone who lives by the Indian sari both on-screen as well as off-screen

Sanaya Irani: Remember the girl with specs in the serial Miley Jab Hum Tum? Off-screen, Sanaya Irani is a fun girl, who loves to wear shorts and tees. The actress, who was mostly seen wearing salwar kameez in the serial, believes in comfort fashion.

Sanjeeda Sheikh: She is cute, smart and stylish. Sanjeeda Sheikh's on-screen image is no way close to her off-screen one, which we think comes across as fun loving! In the serial, Piya Ka Ghar Pyaara Lage (inset), she plays an obedient wife complete with the mangalsutra and sindoor.

Shweta TiwariKasauti Zindagi Kay may have changed her life, but telly world’s controversy's child Shweta Tiwari, rose to fame because of her innumerable appearances in reality shows. She is currently acting in Parvarrish – Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi , a serial where she plays a strict mother of two children. Unlike her screen avatar, Shweta appears to be more of a casual dresser in real life.

Tina Dutta: Looking through snapshots of her serial Uttaran, we realised Tina Dutta is nowhere close to how she dresses in real life. The young and chirpy actress is a fun dresser, whereas in the TV show, Tina is more traditional as far as her choice of clothes is concerned.

Which of these TV actresses is your favourite? Please let us know, we will publish more articles.
